Fun Ideas for Mother’s Day Breakfast in Bed

Mother’s Day is quickly approaching and you want to do something special for mom, right? Well, how about breakfast in bed? Let mom sleep in and serve her breakfast in bed when she wakes up.

Know what she likes– You probably know what types of food your mom prefers when it comes to breakfast. Does she like juice, bagels and fruit or coffee and doughnuts?

Make her a menu– Creating a breakfast menu for mom will make her feel as though she is in a 5-star hotel with room service. Let mom choose the beverage she wants from choices like coffee, tea, hot chocolate or orange juice. If you are making eggs as part of her breakfast, let her choose how she wants them: fried, scrambled, hard-boiled or poached.

Use a fun tray– Mother’s Day isn’t the time to use those boring, wooden TV trays. Instead, use a colorful tray or floral tray. If you have to use one of those wooden ones, spice it up a little by lining it with scraps of wallpaper or gift wrapping paper.

Avoid messy foods– While mom will love her breakfast in bed, the last thing she probably wants is a messy breakfast in bed. So, avoid foods like powdered doughnuts, jelly doughnuts and croissants.

Avoid the noise– You want mom to be able to sleep in on Mother’s Day, so the last thing you want to do is wake her up early while you are making her a special breakfast. Avoid using the blender or mixer and if you have to use these items, consider preparing breakfast the night before. This will also save you some time on Mother’s Day morning.

Don’t forget the extras– Besides the delicious breakfast you put together, add some extra finishing touches that will make mom smile. Maybe a vase of flowers and/or a homemade Mother’s Day card.
